ZhenJiang has a second famous temple site, called JiaoShan. As the name indicates, it is built on top of a mountain overlooking the Yangtze River. Very beautiful. We took a cable car up - a bit rusty, a bit creaky, but otherwise in one piece. At the top, we see a striking pagoda, called the 10,000 Bodhavista Pagoda. Inside are carved figures, thousands of them on every level.
It was very quiet up there, we were alone. Eerie, but very spiritual. Beautifully constructed and well kept.
