2006 Bouchard Père & Fils Gevrey-Chambertin, AC Gevrey-Chambertin
The wines in the machine at PuDao the day I was in weren't that interesting - my opinion at least. So I went for the Burgundy. Pretty expensive taste, 40 RMB (about $6 Cdn) for no more than 1.5 oz. At least the stems were nice, Spigelau. Vibrant red in colour, earthy and rustic, showing off the charm of Gevrey-Chambertin quite nicely. Good fruit, grippy tannins, big structure. Tasting it far too young, but this is a good one.
