2002 Rheingau

2002 Dr. Nägler Riesling Auslese, QmP Rüdesheim, Rheingau

Always a pleasure, to talk about rieslings, especially ones with some age. For an auslese from Rheingau, this is still an infant, but I was thirsty. Look at that golden colour, that vibrant hue. So rich, so creamy, but with an extraordinary balance in both nose and mouth, filled to the brim with petrol minerality, ripe citrus and stony fruit. Acidity that's so tightly wound and sharp, leaving a finish with incredible length. Fabulous wine.
