Clivia

We have a plant called Clivia Orange, that we've been taking care of for about 10 years. It recently reached maturity, and has been blooming twice every year. Beautiful, big orange blooms. Take a look, let me know what you think.

Of course, as these things go, the moment I took my tripod back inside, the sun came out and landed square on the petals. So, what do you do but lug everything back out, before the clouds come and cover all in obscurity.

    The light in the first shot is beautiful. Try to stop down to a smaller aperture to get the full flower in focus.

    The 50/1.8 is a bit soft at 1.8 but is amazingly sharp (for it's price anyways) when you stop down a bit to f2.2 - f2.8. This is true for my copy anyways..try it out

    Yeah, that's been bugging me - I can't get the detail as sharp as I'd like.
